I find it quite difficult sometimes to explain to less experienced or lifelong-staff journalists why I have actually more use of my skills in my creative mix of journalism, copywriting, translating, newsletter- and poetry writing. The industry has - just as it says in one story in your book as well - either to change pay rates or don`t frown upon people who have to set their business on more than one foot. And maybe it also has to motivate people to outlive their creative potential more, if they want to. Everyone has to make their own experiences, but I will share your content to those who also need to hear it.
As always, it was so nice to get this newsletter. The freelance pie has been so helpful to see this week on Twitter too. My own journalism slice is very small compared to everything else I've done this year and I was starting to feel a little weird over it. But considering how varied every freelancers income really is, the pies are so cool to see!

But it's so useful to know the potential earning power of being a freelancer because then you gauge where you are and where you want to be.
