As someone who does have kids who NEVER let me sleep, I will say this: sleep as much as and whenever you can and enjoy it. You deserve a break, just like anyone else.

The compulsiveness around controlling your time and being the most productive you can may stem from being an overachiever (not accusing just thinking out loud) as it sounds like you have a quality that a lot of people crave, which is organisational skills and productivity skills. However the need to control everything may have led to these skills becoming a form of barrier, barrier to your rest/spare time. Most important thing is you've recognised it and are taking some time out from overcontrolling your time. And by being your own boss you're less likely to have someone checking in that you're not overworking yourself, might be an idea to have a fellow work buddy/writer/life coach who you can be accountable to in terms of taking time to have downtime?
