Hello Anna, this is really inspiring - we think we have to keep going on stuff ' because' but sometimes the energy just isn't there. Looking forward to what you do next. Indeed - another door awaits!
Just wanted to say I was inspired partly by your newsletter to start my own, FeistyFreelancer.substack.com launched this week. So this feels like one of those circle of life moments that one finishes up and another starts exploring. Good luck with what's ahead from a fellow freelancer.
Hi Anna, a friend sent me a link to this and reading it I can see why.
I’ve been writing online for a similar amount of time as you and took the plunge to go full time around 6 months ago, largely driven by circumstance. The numbers don’t really add up for me either (and I have less than 20% of the readers you do, 16000 readers is an incredible achievement you should be immensely proud of) and I suspect I’ll be looking for work again soon. But what an adventure being able to write for yourself on your own terms is.
I hope that that above all is what you take away from all of this.
So I wanted to say thank you for this piece as a great example of someone who is further along the path than me acting with grace and wisdom.
Thank you Anna for everything. I'll miss your voice. I was still studying when I started to read your newsletter and I've learned a lot about the reality of freelancing thanks to you. I am starting now my career as a young professional with less fear. It doesn't mean that I won't face any problems, but if there is one thing that you proved to us is that even in the hardest moment you're never alone.
Oh Anna, I’m going to miss this newsletter so very much! You’re a brilliant writer and an inspiration. Wishing you all the best for whatever this next phase brings.
Thank you Ana for your amazing newsletter ! I wish you all the best for what's coming. I will miss you but know that it's for the best ! The better is to come. Where can we follow your adventure next ? Thanks again. Take care xx
Anna, this is bittersweet! I'm so excited to see what happens next for you but also a bit sad. I have loved your newsletter and this community, and it's kept me going during some tricky times. I wouldn't even consider myself a freelance writer or journalist anymore, having fully pivoted to SEO strategy and email marketing, but it gave me the confidence to take risks. I still have all your chasing templates saved in my Notes section and they got me many commissions that others would have given up on. Thank you so much and best of luck for the future!
Thank you! I will miss the newsletter, but this is a very brave decision. Good luck, and I'm looking forward to seeing other writing from you in other formats and forms.
Thanks! It's also brave to let the newsletter go, and make more space - for NOW. I hope you keep all our email addresses and let us know if or when you start up something else again!
Oh shit. The LOVE is Real!! ❤️ I'm still hopeful that we'll come back on Substack or another Platform. I love your content. How do we stay in touch now?
Excited to continue following your work. Will always respect calling it on a project when it no longer makes sense for ya. All the best to you here out.
Thank you for blessing my inbox with your incredible words, wit and humour - I'm going to miss it dearly. I cannot wait to see what comes next for you x
Anna, you are so brave—and so good at listening to your gut! I've learned so much from you and wish you all the best for what's ahead.
